Updates to VISIBLE and PreVISIBLE

Read on for changes making services even more user friendly....
The online VISIBLE workbook has recently been improved by the enhancement of the workbook download PDF within it.
The layout is easier on the eye with a front page displaying the name of your organisation, when the PDF was generated and including the VISIBLE Communities logo. It looks more professional and will be useful for you to show stakeholders and funders.
Most importantly, it now has a 'comment' box attached to each question which you can use to type your comments directly into the PDF. You will now be able to create the PDF, send it to, for instance another board member or supporter and they will be able to add their comments, save and return the PDF to you.
The PDF will not, however be able to save anything added back into the online workbook. Once you have downloaded and saved the PDF it will have been effectively cut loose from the database holding your workbook.
Due to Adobe trying to ensure you buy it's professional package, if you only have the free Adobe Reader you will not be able to save the PDF with any comments you have added. You can print out a copy of your additions before closing the PDF, but this is obviously not ideal. In order to make full use of this new facility you will need either Adobe Professional, to enable you to type and save a copy of the PDF with your additions or download a free PDF reader and editor called Foxit from the following link: www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/index.php
Once you have this you will be able to type in comments and save them in your PDF.
PreVISIBLE has been updated in accordance with Community Matters new on line guidance and advice service OLGA, born of the original information and guidance manual which is free to members. It has been broken down into three sections, Information Sheets - for a general overview of a subject. Technical Guidance Notes - which cover specific areas in more detail and Specimen Documents - which provide a range of useful model policies and procedures. For more information on OLGA (On Line Guidance and Advice) go to http://www.communitymatters.org.uk/Resources/Shop
You will also find a few other minor tweaks to the tool, based upon user feedback, which we hope you will find useful and make your experience of using PreVISIBLE even easier.
For more information on these changes or if you have any queries please contact the VISIBLE Communities Team.
